Usages of Sexual Appeal in Advertising

Hello everyone ! I am Nazmul Hasan Turag , a BBA Student from Lovely Professional University (LPU) want to share my view on unethical advertisements. Here I want to talk about 'Usages of Sexual Appeal in Advertising.

Generally, Sex Appeal is very common in advertising in modern world. Sexual appeal is used to gain consumer attention. Sex appeal is used to sell all kinds of things. It is used where it is not even appropriate to the product or service being advertised. The advertisers use women in a wrong way to market their product with displaying a sexy image of a model wearing top T-shirt and short pant, reveal the skin, bikini, using a sexual word in promoting a product such as Viagra and sexual act by a model such as pose on the bed, hugging tight with male model which not appropriate viewing by the children and old folks. Because it will give bad impacts to the children’s mind development. Sometimes Sex appeal is used in advertising of a product, but where a particular product is not related to the sex. Using sex appeal Marketing can harm the faithfulness between customers and marketers because customers can understand the intention of marketers behind these manipulative visuals. Sex appeal marketing has negative effects on both genders, especially when the product is not related to sex. The findings open the way for further research to explore whether similarly negative effects would occur if sexualized images of women were used to sell ethical causes other than the treatment of animals, for instance, in promoting action to address poverty. So, sex appeal is one kind of unethical practice in advertising where sex is not related to the products or services.

So, I want to conclude my blog by saying that, Advertising copy must be ethical and credible. The marketer should try to gain the morality and credibility besides gaining the profit.

3 Unethical Marketing Practices You Need To Avoid

Hello everyone ! I am Nazmul Hasan Turag , a BBA Student from Lovely Professional University ( LPU) want to share my view on ethics in marketing. Here I want to talk about '3 unethical marketing practices you need to avoid.

When one starts a company, either online or in real life, many have hopes of striking it rich. However, not everyone wants to make money honestly using hard work, not everyone has what it takes to be successful solely through ethical marketing practices. This is exactly why many people start engaging in unethical marketing practices. The goal here may be to trick customers into buying more, shutting out their competition, or simply enhancing their own name in some way. If the process is not strictly honest, the company may be putting its reputation on the line.

1. Forcing Customers Into Making A Purchase

There are several ways to convince people to buy your product. This may be done honestly, or occasionally in a forceful manner.
For instance, on their online sales page, there might be huge exclamations and banners falsely proclaiming charitable donations or how their product would help alleviate from poverty. Another example might be stating to their customers that buying their product may be the only way to make money online. If vendors claim that there is no use in trying to make money without their product, they are outright misinforming customers.
In most cases your product should sell itself through referrals and word of mouth. You may inform customers of what they would gain by buying what you have to offer. Alternatively, you could also honestly say what difference your product could make over others.

2. Accuracy in text or advertising

Sometimes goods on the market are not worth buying. Online marketing often uses photography and writing techniques to mislead. Unfortunately, often if the prices are too cheap, there is an almost certain compromise on quality. If the pictures are of food, it may be much smaller than it seems to be. Close-ups, zooming in, and lighting can serve to trick a customer into placing an order.
This practice may serve to get you a few initial orders, but very few repeat purchases. Customers would definitely not return to a vendor who has fooled them once.
Hence, it is important to make sure you are not just concentrating solely on making sales, but providing the best product or service you can as well. This would satisfy your customers, and they would most likely make your products popular in return.

3. Under Delivering And Over Charging

These practices would never endear a company to its customers, nor help in attracting new ones. When you don’t deliver the full order or charge exorbitant prices, you are very likely to turn off customers.
Many marketers adopt the unethical practice of promising the customers a lot of things within a package. However, once the customer makes the purchase, they are told that the extra items are out of stock. This is a highly disappointing event and could lead to a lot of anger and frustration. Honesty for your company is one of the most important practices and should got through your whole company.

It is important to educate yourself about unethical marketing practices. This is because you may be indulging in these activities without realizing it. If customers and social media influencers catch on to this, it may break your hold on the market. Hence, it is a much better choice to stay above board while dealing with your market. You may not earn so much in the beginning, but your customers’ trust is priceless in the long run.

Unethical Practices of Advertising in "BANGLADESH"

Hello everyone ! I am Nazmul Hasan Turag , a BBA Student from Lovely Professional University ( LPU) want to share my view on unethical advertisements. Here I want to talk about unethical practices of advertising in 'Bangladesh".

'Ethics' is the code of conduct of Business. It is a highly significant considerable issue in case of any advertising. But the uses or degree of competition of unethical practices of advertising are increasing in Bangladesh than the before. Most of the multinational, global and local companies use some unethical and misleading advertising to increase their immediate sales volume of products by providing untruthful and over colored information about their products qualities and ingredients. For this reason, standard and branded companies can’t achieve customer’s satisfaction and their desired goal.
Energy drink, Fairness Cream, Mango Juice, Shampoo & Hair Conditional, Vital Nutrient Product, Telecommunication and Face Wash products are involved with misleading advertising practices in Bangladesh. Companies of Bangladesh provide wrong and over colored information about their products quality and characteristics while their advertising.
'By using fairness cream You can be bright, beautiful and attractive within 1 week' but People believe that the use of the creams could cause skin problems such as itchiness, rashes, dryness, pimples, hardness and darkness of the face skin. 'Mango juice is made with pure and fresh Mango and there is no preservative in it' but The using of high amount of preservatives that had bacteriostatic effect on microbes and cause health hazards to consumers. In this case those companies deceive their customer and sales huge amount of mango juice by giving wrong and unethical advertisement copy. 'By taking Nutrient product you will be taller, sharper and stronger' but If every child may taller by drinking this product then every person may taller in the country. There will not be any short people in the country. Maximum respondents experienced that Nutrient product is energetic, but it cannot increase the height. 'Get energy and power by drinking Energy Drink' but Energy drinks contain large number of caffeine and an assortment of other hazardous ingredients, which is very harmful for our health and entire society. '100% hair fall is stopped Within 14 days by using Shampoo & Hair Conditional' however hear fall problem is remaining constant. It does not work properly Dandruff never removes forever. So the consumer being cheated due to false and unrealistic advertising copy.
It is clear that unethical practices in advertising may often occur in the most areas in Bangladesh.Maximum companies aren’t maintaining the law of the Consumer Rights. For this reason fair company can’t achieve their goal and customer can’t believe any company at present.
So, I want to conclude my blog by saying that, Advertising copy is the most important part of any advertising. So every company or advertising agency should provide correct information to their customers by advertising copy. Advertising copy must be ethical and credible. The marketer should try to gain the morality and credibility besides gaining the profit. They can gain profit by giving the informative, correct, credible information to consumer and developed the society with morality.
